Steve Wallace
Senior Design and Airworthiness Engineer
Steve joined LTL as Senior Designer in December 2007, having spent the previous 15 years working in the 'lighter than air' field. Prior to that Steve graduated from Brighton Polytechnic with an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1985. He then completed a graduate apprentiship at Lucas Automotive and spent some time designing Car Braking systems. Steve then spent a couple of years at Airbus in Bristol. In the last few years Steve has specialized in 'Textile Engineering': he has designed in excess of 50 'Special shape' hot air balloons, many inflated structures (including a 40m high 'Action hero' for a theme park in Japan). Steve enjoys the diversity of work offered by this industry; "One day I might be designing some complex test equipment for a military application, the next it could be an inflatable structure for corporate hospitality".
